Vietnam is one of the world’s great coffee-producing countries. But there is another side to Vietnamese coffee that far fewer people in the UK have had the opportunity to experience.
Speciality Arabica coffee, grown high in the mountains of Da Lat.
This year, we travelled to Vietnam to visit Zanya Coffee, meet Marian and Lim and see first-hand how they are helping to push Vietnamese speciality coffee forward.
Now, we’re bringing their coffee back to the UK.

Zanya is based in the Central Highlands around Da Lat, Vietnam, a region whose altitude and climate make it particularly well suited to growing Arabica coffee.
While Vietnam is best known internationally for Robusta, producers such as Zanya are demonstrating what is possible with carefully grown and processed Vietnamese Arabica.
That’s exactly why we wanted to visit.
Nam Song started with a cup of Vietnamese coffee in Saigon back in 2015. Since then, we’ve wanted to explore not just how Vietnamese coffee has traditionally been consumed, but where it might go next.
Zanya is part of that story.

For our first Zanya release, we’ve selected coffees showcasing four different processing methods:
Double Washed
A clean and refined expression of Vietnamese Arabica, created through a washed processing method.
Natural
Coffee processed with the fruit left around the seed during drying, producing a very different expression of the same origin.
Black Honey
A honey-processed coffee where some of the coffee fruit’s mucilage remains on the seed as it dries.
Lavender Co-Ferment
A more experimental expression of Vietnamese coffee, using co-fermentation to introduce another dimension to the coffee’s flavour.
Together, the four coffees offer an opportunity to explore how dramatically processing can influence what ends up in your cup.

For years, our aim at Nam Song has been to introduce more people in the UK to coffee from Asia.
Vietnam is central to that.
The country’s traditional coffee culture — dark coffee slowly dripping through a phin filter, often served with condensed milk — was what first made us fall in love with Vietnamese coffee.
But Vietnamese coffee isn’t one single thing.
Alongside that tradition is an increasingly exciting speciality coffee scene, with producers experimenting with varieties, growing methods, fermentation and processing.
We want to show both sides.
The Zanya collection is our opportunity to introduce you to some of the people helping shape what Vietnamese coffee could become.

The first Nam Song × Zanya coffees are now available to order from our online shop.
You can explore the different processing methods individually, or try the coffees alongside one another to experience just how much processing can change the character of a coffee.
All of the coffees originate from Zanya in Da Lat, Vietnam, before making their way to us here in Sheffield.

And this is only the beginning.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing much more from our trip to Zanya — including the people we met, how the coffees are produced and our full film from the farm.
If you’ve only ever experienced one side of Vietnamese coffee, we’d like to show you another.
From Da Lat to Sheffield. Welcome to Vietnamese Speciality Coffee
